Youth Minister's Corner
Welcome to Youth Ministry at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Irondequoit, NY. My name is Brian Leavy and I am the new Youth Minister for our parish. I have attached below my invitation to all of the parents of our youth, to our first Parents' Advisory Meeting on Wednesday, August 6, from 7pm to 8pm in the Parish Center. Dear Parents,
My name is Brian Leavy, I am the new youth minister at St. Thomas the Apostle and I am proud to announce the return of youth ministry to our parish! It is a wonderful ministry that is focused solely on our young people, helping them to get excited about their faith, bringing them closer to God, and developing their own personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, St. Thomas has been without youth ministry for several years and I need your help! I am writing to ask for your assistance and input - acknowledging the fact that it is through the support of parents and families that make youth activities successful, I am looking to you. You are the primary educators of your children and because your role in their lives is so important I need your feedback, comments, thoughts, etc. In order for this to happen I would like to invite you to a Parent’s Advisory meeting on youth ministry at St. Thomas. Here, I can introduce myself to you, listen to your thoughts and comments and share with you my own. We will meet in the Parish Center on Wednesday August 6 from 7:00 to 8:00pm with some light refreshments. Through all this I ask for your prayers, for myself, the youth of St. Thomas, and for all of the volunteers who are going to working with us to minister to our young people.
