The Monsignor Richard K. Burns Council was formed in 1996 and is named after the second pastor of St. Thomas, who served the parish between 1954 and 1982. |
Some of the activities that the Council has undertaken include: Constructing a large nativity scene, which is displayed on parish grounds during the Christmas season. Cooking for church functions:
- First Communion Breakfast
- St. Patrick's Day Dinner
- Breakfast with Santa
- Parish Family Breakfasts
- Co-sponsoring the parish's Easter Egg Hunt.
Holding an annual Free Throw Basketball Competition for area children. Supporting the annual Pro-Life bus trip to Washington, D.C. each January for the March for Life Supporting seminarians in the parish. Supporting:
- Habitat for Humanity
- Local "Comfort Care Homes" giving hospice type care
- Morality in the Media
- Maintaining the eternal flame at the K of C Finger Lakes Chapter Memorial to the Unborn located on the walkway to the Adoration Chapel.
The Council meets at 7:30 PM on the fourth Wednesday of each month between September and June. Meetings are held in the Parish Center. New members are welcome. Membership is open to practicing Catholic males, 18 years of age or older. Stop by during a meeting or talk to one of the members during one of our activities.
